Martha Hincapié Charry
Choreographer, dancer, trainer
Martha studied dancing in her country, Columbia, and in Cuba.
She studied dancing and media at the Folk Faculty in Essen, under the guidance of Pina Bausch.
She performed at the Wuppertal Dance Theatre, at the Münster State Theatre, at the Arts House of Bochum, the Aachen Theatre and in various independent productions.
Her own productions being highly appreciated, she was then invited to participate in numerous Festivals in Berlin, Paris, Zagreb, Roma, Arnheim, MedellÌn, Bogota, Bucaramanga, Aachen, Essen and Wuppertal.
Martha was awarded several prizes and scholarships.
Her latest creation, Autorretrato con Mascara was realized with the support of the Columbian Foundation Iberescena. The show obtained the Prize of the Audience at the Festival 100 in Berlin.
After various teaching experiences in Columbia, Martha started working, in 2008 as assistant choreographer in community dance and TanzZeit projects.
Martha Hincapié Carry lives and works in Berlin and Bogota.
