Adevarul Sibiu, A big cheer for “The Firebird”

The first community dance show in Romania, performed last night on the stage of the Trade Unions’ Culture Hall was a huge success in Sibiu.

For several minutes, the audience rewarded with big cheers the amazing performance of the 100 children and young people who made the Firebird show. After only six weeks of rehearsal, guided by the choreographers Royston Maldoom and Josef Eder, the youngsters, among which 15 from Sibiu, presented a beautiful, professional show that delighted an audience of approximately 1,000 people. “It was extraordinary. I am very happy I had the opportunity to witness such a performance”, said Maria Predoiu.

Among those who attended the show was also Mayor Klaus Johannis, accompanied by the President of the County Council, Martin Bottesch.

The children’s performance demonstrated the project’s purpose, that dance can change people’s lives, by freeing them from their own complexes.
